Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your Chuds BBQ experience.
What is the typical lead time for custom pits?
Our custom BBQ pits and smokers are handcrafted to order. Current lead times typically range from 8 to 12 weeks depending on the complexity of the build and seasonal demand.
Do you offer international shipping?
Currently, we ship our heavy-duty smokers within the continental United States and Canada. Smaller accessories and apparel can be shipped worldwide.
How do I season my new Chuds BBQ pit?
To protect the steel and prevent rust, we recommend coating the interior with a thin layer of food-grade oil and running a low-temperature burn for 3-4 hours before your first cook.
What is your return policy on hard goods?
We accept returns on unused accessories within 30 days of delivery. Due to the custom nature of our smokers and pits, all sales on heavy equipment are final once production has begun.
What type of steel is used in your smokers?
We use high-quality, American-made 1/4 inch thick carbon steel for our pits to ensure maximum heat retention and lifetime durability.
Can I track my freight shipment?
Yes, once your pit leaves our workshop, you will receive a tracking number and a link to the freight carrier's portal to monitor your delivery progress.
